Yes, most modern health insurance policies cover minimally invasive surgeries like Laparoscopic and Laser procedures for conditions such as Gallstones, Hernia, Piles, and Fistula. However, the exact coverage depends on your specific policy. We recommend reviewing your policy document or reaching out to your TPA (Third Party Administrator) for confirmation.
For planned surgeries, our insurance desk initiates the request 48–72 hours before admission. You will need to provide:
Your Health Insurance Card/Policy copy.
Valid ID Proof (Aadhar/PAN).
Dr. Ghosh’s consultation note and recommendation for surgery.
Relevant investigation reports (Ultrasound, Blood tests, etc.).
In some situations definitely yes. But not always. Common "out-of-pocket" expenses include:
Co-payment: A fixed percentage of the bill you agree to pay (common in senior citizen policies).
Deductibles: An initial amount you must pay before insurance kicks in.
Non-Medical Items: Gloves, masks, gowns, and certain disposables (often called "Non-Medical Expenses").
Room Rent Cap: If you choose a room more expensive than your policy limit, you may have to pay the difference for the room and associated medical fees.
When you consult with Dr. Ghosh and we start the discussion on admissions and pre approval the doctor gives you a more clear picture based on which hospital we decide to choose for the procedure. It is always better to ask the doctor for better clarity and transparency!

A Guide to a Smooth, Hassle-Free Surgical Experience
To ensure your insurance pre-approval is processed quickly and without errors, please use this checklist to gather the necessary documents before your surgery.
1. Identity & Policy Documents (Mandatory)
Government ID Proof: Aadhar Card (Preferred), PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport.
Insurance Health Card: Physical or digital e-card issued by your insurer/TPA.
Latest Policy Copy: A digital or printed copy of your current policy document showing the "Sum Insured", "Co Payment" clauses and any "Waiting Periods."
Corporate ID (If applicable): Your employee ID card if your insurance is provided by your employer.
2. Medical Records for Pre-Approval
Consultation Note: Dr. Ghosh’s official recommendation for surgery (on clinic letterhead).
Diagnostic Reports: Original reports of recent Ultrasound, CT Scans, or Blood Tests related to your condition (Gallstones, Hernia, Piles, etc.).
Past Medical History: Discharge summaries or treatment records of any previous hospitalizations or chronic conditions (Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart issues).
Prescriptions: A list of all current medications you are taking.
3. Financial Readiness (The "Fine Print")
Check your Room Rent Limit: Ensure you know your eligible room category (e.g., Twin Sharing, Private Single AC) to avoid "proportionate deduction" charges.
Pre-Authorization Form: Duly filled and signed (Our insurance desk will provide this).
KYC for NEFT: A cancelled cheque and PAN card copy (Required in case of reimbursement or if the insurer needs to refund a deposit).
4. Important Timeline Reminders
48 Hours Before: Submit all the above documents to our Insurance Desk for "Planned Cashless" approval.
Approval Wait Time: The TPA usually takes 2 to 6 hours for initial approval. Please remain reachable by phone during this time.
Non-Medical Expenses: Keep aside a small buffer amount for "Non-Medical Items" (gloves, masks, registration) which are usually not covered by insurance.
Please remember to be in touch with Dr. Ghosh or his coordinator during the entire process for a smoother hassle free experience.
